Details: This ammunition would have been issued for the panzer IV in North Africa. FUR TROPEN in red was often labeled on crates dedicated to the tropical theaters. WW2 German ammunition intended for use in tropical climates had a waterproofing seal around the case/projectile joint. This crate would not only be seen in use with the Afrika Korp but throughout the Mediterranean.
