History:

The German experiences encountering the well-armored T-34 and KV-1 tanks encouraged the Germans to develop better anti-tank weapons to combat the growing armored threat. The PaK-43 88 mm high-velocity anti-tank cannon, was a direct result of this development. To increase the mobility of the gun, it was decided to mount the PaK-43 onto the chassis of the Panther. Similar to the Panther, the Jagdpanther was protected by 80 mm of sloped armor at 55 degrees.
The Jagdpanther saw combat on both the Eastern and Western Fronts, where it proved to be an effective weapon against any armor encountered thanks to its long-range ambushing capability and thick frontal armor.
