History:

The M3 Half-track was an iconic vehicle developed during the Second World War, used widely on all major fronts serving under the U.S. Army, U.S. Marines, British Commonwealth, and Red Army Forces under Lend-Lease.

The M3 Half-track entered service in late 1940, appearing in the Philippines, followed by North Africa in Operation Torch. Though it initially gained a poor reputation with complaints about little overhead protection and thin armor, the M3 Half-track was successful due to its versatility and mechanical reliability.

Approximately 54,000 M3 Half-tracks and its variants were produced between 1940 and 1945.
