History:
Designed in 1934 and produced in 1937, the Matilda Infantry tank for its time had the luxury of around 70 mm of frontal and side armor protection; enough to protect the crew from smaller caliber German and Italian anti-tank weapons. The Matilda II sported a 40 mm QF 2-Pounder Anti-tank Cannon and two BESA Machine Guns.
The Matilda series is most famous for their service in the early North African Campaign. During the later years of the campaign, however, the Matilda was beginning to be phased out of service due to the ineffective armor it had by 1941-1942 standards, as long German 75s and 88s could punch through their armor with ease.
Though most Matilda tanks were destroyed by 1942, some saw service until the end of the war, being one of the very few tanks to fight on all fronts.

Awesome model. The scale is a bit smaller than standard minifig scale but it still looks great alongside minifigures.
All of panzer bricks kits are well put together and very historically accurate. The Matilda was very easy for me to put together and looks great with a figure next to it!
