Allied vehicle bridge weight markers (Bridge plates)

Markings used on Allied vehicles that indicate the weight of the vehicle in tons. This was used to calculate whether a vehicle could safely cross a bridge with a given rating.

2  Trailer, medium 1 ton, Ben Hur, truck 1/4 ton. recon truck, jeep

3 Trailer heavy. M10 ammo,  1/2 ton truck Dodge VC

4 Ambulance truck 3/4 ton, Dodge 4x4 WC

5 Truck 1 1/2 ton Dodge 6x6 or VF series 

10 half tracks trucks 2 1/2 to 5 tons
