History:

Developed by Japan during the final stages of World War II, the Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka, "Cherry Blossom," was a rocket-powered, piloted suicide attack aircraft designed to strike Allied warships. Carried beneath a Mitsubishi G4M bomber and released near its target, the Ohka entered operational service in 1945 as part of Japan's desperate efforts to counter Allied naval forces in the Pacific.
